It’s a special day. It’s the morning after the day I officially announced my first book and I don't want to start the day without sharing something with you all.

A few years back, I remember telling my friend that I want to write a book one day. She asked me what book and I said a book related to painting. I did not know what exactly I’d do back then but I knew what I loved and that one day I would be an author.
.
I have never held myself back from dreaming big because I once read that the first step to greatness is great dreams and it indeed is.
Through the years, I worked hard towards several dreams that I had, the book being one of them. Early last year, in 2019, I picked up a chalk, and made a short list of things I wanted to achieve. It was a very concise list with just 5 things and writing a book was one of them.
I would look at that list everyday and smile, wondering how I’d feel if it all happened.
A couple of months later, I got a mail in my inbox. It was from my publisher and they wanted to talk about working on a book with me. Almost spooky, right ?
I was elated, obviously but also nervous because this was finally happening. The day I had a call with them, I almost couldn’t believe this was happening but it was.
This wasn’t the first time I asked for something, and the universe made it happen. I firmly believe in the law of attraction but I also believe that its nothing without hard work and dedication.
.
One of the reasons I have never let go of my dreams and the willingness to do whatever it takes is because I also remember the time when I had nothing but dreams, to become something, do something and make my parents proud.
Every time we would go to the parent teacher meet in school, my father would ask me if he’d be able to see my name up on the board and almost every time I would say no. I was an above average student but never smart enough to be a topper in school. My parents were always okay with it but I wasn’t.
Today, I can send them links to articles and magazines and international retailers that have my name and I am proud because I know they are proud of who I have become. When I think about it, it leaves me teary-eyed.
This book has several pieces of my heart for several reasons. For me, its not just a book, it’s a dream come true and I have many people to thank, including you. If you are reading this, you have directly or indirectly supported me and my dreams. So, thank you!
.
Love,
Vidhi
